How many porta potties does a construction site need?

A California construction site needs one toilet for every 20 workers of each sex, under Cal/OSHA Title 8 section 1526. A crew of 1 to 20 needs one unit. A crew of 21 to 40 needs two. Crews of fewer than five can share one single-user, all-gender unit.

Workers (per sex)Legal minimumOur suggestion with weekly service
1–101 toilet1 unit
11–201 toilet2 units, or 1 with twice-weekly service
21–402 toilets3–4 units
41–603 toilets5–6 units

Source: Cal/OSHA Title 8 §1526. The legal minimum is a floor. Our suggestion keeps one unit to about 10 workers per weekly service, so units stay usable. This is not legal advice; confirm with your safety officer. More detail: Cal/OSHA toilet rules explained.

How does 28-day construction billing work?

Construction porta potty rentals bill in 28-day cycles, not calendar months. The first invoice covers the first 28 days plus a one-time delivery charge. After that, the card on file or your account is billed every 28 days. Billing stops on the day you request pickup, with no contract or penalty.

  • One service per week included, on a set weekday
  • Extra services available for big crews or hot weeks
  • Add or remove units any time; billing adjusts
  • Invoices list job address and PO number for your books

Where should the jobsite toilet go?

Put the jobsite toilet on level ground within about 25 feet of where the service truck can park. Keep it away from trenches, material drops and the dumpster path. On Whittier hillside lots, the unit gets staked or strapped so Santa Ana gusts between October and March cannot tip it.

Add-ons crews ask for

  • Hand-washing station for drywall, concrete and food breaks
  • Towable units for sites that move
  • Flushing unit for the site office or client walk-throughs
  • Lock and key for after-hours security

Can you match a vendor switch without overlap?

A vendor switch can be timed to the last day of your current billing cycle. Tell us the old vendor’s pickup date, and our unit lands the same morning. Crews never go without a toilet, and you do not pay two companies for the same week.

Questions people ask before booking

Do you offer contractor accounts?

Contractors with repeat jobs can open an account. Accounts get one point of contact, invoice billing after approval, and job-by-job statements with PO numbers. Call dispatch to set one up, then book new sites with one phone call or text.

Can I get service twice a week?

Twice-weekly service is available for any construction rental. It is common on jobs with more than 10 workers per unit and during summer heat. The extra visit is billed as a flat add-on and shows on each 28-day invoice.

What if the unit gets tagged or damaged?

Graffiti, fire, vandalism or damage from moving the unit are billed at repair cost. Normal wear is never charged. Lock the door after hours, keep the unit out of the street, and call dispatch right away if something happens. Photos help.

Can a unit be moved to another spot on the site?

Do not move a loaded unit yourself. Tipping spills the tank and damages the door. Call dispatch and the next service visit relocates it, usually at no charge on the same lot.

Do you deliver to new home tracts and commercial sites?

Tract builds, ADU conversions, tenant improvements and warehouse jobs are all served. For gated sites, send the gate code and a contact name with the order. Units can be set on a pad before the crew arrives.
